Third Reich SS Members Cigarette Case-With Contents
Alpaca case bearing an inscription naming an SS Scharführer, who potentially could be traced, and maybe linked to a dagger via the Dienstalterliste if his career progressed above NCO rank.
Case still contains a number of period cigarettes “Korfu Rot”.
“ Korfu Rot" cigarettes, popular during World War II, were a German brand known for their cork tips and distinctive packaging featuring a map of Greece. The name, meaning "Corfu Red" in German, likely alluded to the origin of some of the tobacco used in the blend, possibly sourced from the Greek island of Corfu. The cigarettes were often sold in cartons containing 12 individually wrapped cigarettes, featuring a swastika stamp.
