Third Reich Marine SA/NPEA Dagger-Bickel-Personalised
This fascinating piece is an anomaly, having all the characteristics of a marine SA, its superb scabbard is finished in a near perfect NPEA green.
All fittings to include the perfectly inset grip eagle are finished in a beautiful honey-gold plate. Upper and lower crossguards have no damage and all the gold finish, with very deep cut accent grooves. The lower guard has the code “Fr” to the reverse.
Grip has an excellent fit with the guards and has correctly inset SA rune and party eagle.nright blade has no damage with much crossgrain visible. The “Alles Für Deutschland” motto is deeply etched and very black. To the reverse ricasso area is the deeply stamped “August Bickel” trademark. Scabbard has no damage and a few “spidering” marks to the green surface. Scabbard fittings have fixing screws present and the lower ball is undamaged. A superb jewellers etch to the upper reverse fitting declares this item to be the property of “H. Weber”
It is likely that this was a special presentation piece awarded by the SA to a dignitary or businessman for their service to the cause. Interestingly there is still a machining company in cologne who worked closely with the Wehrmacht both before and during the war, whose name is:
Hans Weber Maschinenfabrik
