Third Reich HJ Knife-Klaas
A prototype or early salesman’s sample of a quality knife which has a perfectly inset, metal, Robert Klaas “kissing cranes” insignia in the obverse grip. Both plates are perfect being secured by domed rivets to the obverse.
Single piece steel pommel/backstrap/crossguard has all its finish with a few tiny blemishes. A black leather washer sits beneath the crossguard. Unusual blade has a curved tip and false edge to the first third of its back edge. The Klaas logo, name and location are stamped horizontally to the upper reverse ricasso. Black finished scabbard still retains much of the paint with some bubbling scratching. The linen finish is still visible to the blade runners. Leather belt loop and grip strap are securely riveted and in excellent condition. Snap clip still operates correctly.
A rare item, perfect for the HJ or “by maker” collector.
