Vintage British Military Universal Stereoscope
The Stereoscope Universal Bar-Parallax (often referred to as a parallax bar or stereometer) is a scientific instrument used to measure the height of objects (such as trees, buildings, or terrain) from aerial photographs, and was crucial for military intelligence. While many surviving examples are from the 1940s–1950s (World War II and later), the technology originated from earlier stereoscopic principles developed around the time of World War I, including instruments manufactured by J.M. Glauser & Sons, such as this example.
All complete with lenses, tools and even the key to the locking fitted wooden case. Wonderful example.
