Plain upper clip, straps supported by folded metal tabs, which are oak leaf decorated. Good definition to the buckles and slides which have matching embellishments. Lower clips are the pebbled, "push-in" variety. Bullion fronts are in excellent condition with no torn threads, reverse is brown high pile velvet having two tiny holes presumably caused by attempts to hang or display.

Third Reich K98 Bayonet Frog

High quality black leather, four rivet construction with complete stitching. Some age related cracking to the shoe area. Marked to the reverse with 1942 and "R.Z.f.H." which is short for "Reichs Zentrale für Handwerkslieferungen". This was a organisation in Germany between 1933 and 1945 which synchronized and organized small firms of craftsmen together.

An unissued wooden whistle, complete in the original packet in which it was issued. This packet is marked with the name of the German Youth Hostel Association and the description "signalpfeife" . Unadorned upper box clip and Spring clip fitting is D.R.G.M. Marked. Buckles, slides and lower clips are decorated with oak leaves and acorns and are also D.R.G.M. Marked. Lower fittings are the "push-up" versions. Straps are sound but have wear damage to the edges. Tops of straps are reinforced with grey leather.  read more
