This miniature appears to be made from one casting, having pommel, crossguard grip plates and blade either painted, in the case of the chequered grips, plated in the case of the blade or polished in the case of the pommel and guard.

An interesting reference written and published in the French language in the '70's containing many photographs and line drawings of daggers and accoutrements. Many "in wear" photographs also included.
In good condition with very slight foxing to the frontispiece but no missing pages, rips or tears.

Sew-In army Dagger Hanger
This suspension clip was designed to be sewn into the uniform to facilitate carrying a dagger when a belt was not practical, and consists of a ten inch length of grey double stitched strapping, with a push in Spring clip attached to one end. Strapping in perfect condition with remains of the original "in uniform" stitching at one end. Spring clip works perfectly and retains most of its plating. read more

A period hanger which appears to be a commercially manufactured belt loop with snap clip, which has been field modified to include a leather clothes protector.

Luftwaffe Sword Hanger
An early blue leather hanger for the Luftwaffe sword, being a 2 piece construction teardrop shape (blue front sewn to brown rear) with adjustable width fold over belt loop. Attached to the lower teardrop is a pebbled alluminium push in clip. Much of the stitching securing front to rear leather has gone to time, but could be easily replaced.
