Third Reich K98 Bayonet Frog-SS Marked

A black frog of four rivet construction having some hardening of the leather but no damage to the lug hole. The reverse is not only stamped with SS runes, but with details of the capturing soldier who no doubt returned this trophy home. A very rare item being a saddle mounted hanger for an SS sword. These white leather accoutrements are associated with parades at the Berghof in Austria.

A very early example having a wide strap with two sets of twin black lines. Slide, stem and crown are zig zag black stripes over a wooden former. Acorn has woolen feel covering and some minor damage. Acorn base utilises a section of strap material as infill.  read more
