Third Reich Army Officer Dagger Hangers

A very rare, early set of hangers having very unusual characteristics. Upper box clip is brass based and decorated with oak leaves and acorns. Straps are attached to the clip by folded metal tabs secured by rivets and are also decorated. Buckles appear to be silvered brass and are in fine condition. Originally containing a chocolate bar made from cocoa grown in Trinidad, Grenada or St Lucia, these tins were often purchased by relatives as a parting gift for soldiers going to the front, and bears the emblems and mottos of the manufacturing colonies on the lid. WW1 Princess Mary Christmas Tin

Perfect brass tin having the officers “Sterling Silver” marked “bullet pencil”. The pencil case was made from a spent .303 cartridge recovered from UK firing ranges and marked with a stylised “M” beneath a crown.
The Christmas card is marked 1915 and is in fine condition. The standard Princess Mary photo card is included.
