A selection of handmade miniature straw ornaments produced as donation badges-Tinnies- for the 1936 (Erntedankfest) Harvest Thanksgiving Festival. The campaign commissioned local craftsmen and women to produce a series of traditional folk items including woven straw balls, knots and wreaths to be given in exchange for charitable donation.

Third Reich Charity Fundraisung Tokens (Tinnies)

Kriekswinterhilfswerk (KWHW) donation badges featuring endangered Alpine plants. Made from wood and wax paper, these were issued for the 4th Winter fund raiser, Reich Road collection on March 27th and 28th, 1943. There were 10 plants in the series, our examples feature the water lily, the edelweiss and the marathon Lily.

Some six inches in overall length, having a broad box clip in the upper section. Pebbled aluminium spring clip sewn and riveted into the lower teardrop section. Brown felt backing has minor moth tracking. Light brown leather has a pebbled feel and has complete stitching. Excellent worn condition.  read more
